Time Structure: Arrive 4 p.m. the first day and depart 1 - 3 p.m the third day. (exception: Day Programs arrive 10 a.m. depart at sunset) One adult must accompany each child under 12. For fees see registration page.
April 16-18 Camp Renewal: Each year we come together to prepare Elemental Earthcamp for the season. If you've never been here, this is an opportunity to see the land and the facilities at no cost. Veteran Earthcampers reconnect with the land and old friends. Activities include trimming trails, gathering firewood, planting the garden, and cleaning the camp kitchen. Bring a pair of work gloves. We appreciate your kindness and willingness to help.
May 28-30 Adventure Camp - Animal Encounters: Awaken your inner naturalist as you observe and examine the lives of wild animals of forest, field and creek. Practice nature awareness exercises and learn to live in right relation to the animals. Participate in a scavenger hunt with animal tracks, subterranean creatures, birds and the creek. We'll take a night hike, count fireflies, talk to the owls and call the coyotes. Develop a kinship with your personal animal ally. Learn how to protect wildlife habitat and coexist with animals.
July 2-4 Earth Family Camp - 4th of July Celebration: Spend the holiday weekend in the Ozarks! Beat the heat and soak in the swimming hole. Take a lazy creek walk and hunt arrowheads on the gravel bars. Roast weenies, corn on the cob and marshmallows. Make homemade ice cream. Gaze at the star-filled sky and watch the mist creep over the valley. Reawaken wonder. Realize how to live in harmony with nature in this modern society. Commemorate the diversity of our nation.
Aug 20-22 Plant Gathering: Come to know the herbs and trees that sustained our ancestors and native tribes. Learn the medicinal, edible and sacred plants used by the Osage and Cherokee. Learn how the pioneers cured ills and injuries with wild herbs. Practice your identification skills. Become confident in gathering, drying and using native plants. Dig roots, gather seeds and harvest bundles. Powerful green allies await you. Discover the gifts they bear and the lessons they offer.
Sept 17-19 Harvest Drum Circle: During autumn, our ancestors gathered around the fire sharing food, drink, stories and song. Tell the story of your personal growth of the year. Celebrate your hard work and triumphs. Pay tribute to your unique personal harvest. Make a wreath or prayer bundle to capture the summer's bounty. Collect seeds for the future.
CLAY DAYS
Experience the ancient cure of clay. Spend the day on the Crooked Creek swimming, sunning and receiving the gift of crystal healing clay. With a full body clay mask, feel physical and emotional toxins being removed. Revive your body and spirit! Clay is harvested from the crystal mines in Arkansas and prepared by Dick Schmidt, our good friend and neighbor, (clayplay.com). Bring: lunch, drinking water, towel, swimsuit, folding chair. Fee: $40 (kids under 12 free and must be accompanied by an adult)
